Turkey Production tools: what they help with
These calculators estimate what a turkey produces, such as eggs, milk, wool or meat, based on breed, age and how it is kept. For a smallholding, realistic yield numbers decide how many animals you need and whether the feed bill makes sense.
What to know about production and yield for turkeys
Turkeys typically live 5 to 10 years. Turkeys need more headroom and roosting space than chickens and are highly susceptible to blackhead disease, which is why keeping them with chickens is often discouraged. Heritage breeds live far longer than commercial broad-breasted lines.

A practical tip
Expect yields to drop with age, heat, molting and stress. Plan around the average year, not the best one.
