Duck Production tools: what they help with
These calculators estimate what a duck produces, such as eggs, milk, wool or meat, based on breed, age and how it is kept. For a smallholding, realistic yield numbers decide how many animals you need and whether the feed bill makes sense.
What to know about production and yield for ducks
Ducks typically live 8 to 12 years. Ducks need water deep enough to submerge their heads and ideally to swim, plus a predator-proof house at night. They do not roost, so bedding on the floor matters more than perches, and they make any area muddy.

A practical tip
Expect yields to drop with age, heat, molting and stress. Plan around the average year, not the best one.
