Tarantula Housing tools: what they help with
These calculators size your tarantula's living space: the minimum and recommended dimensions, how much bedding or substrate to buy and what fits in the space you have. Too little space is one of the most common welfare problems in pets. The right size gives a tarantula room to move, rest and behave normally.
What to know about housing and enclosure size for tarantulas
Terrestrial species need more floor space than height, with substrate deep enough to burrow and no more than 1.5 times their leg span of climbing room, since a fall can rupture the abdomen. Target humidity is around 65-75%.

Treat the minimum as the floor, not the goal. Bigger is almost always better, especially for active or social species.
