Frog care tools and calculators
There are 16 tools for frogs on XpertsPet, sorted into 12 topics such as age, behavior, breeding, cost, environment and health. The cards above take you straight to each group. Below is a short guide to what they cover and which ones are most useful at different points in your frog's life.
Frogs at a glance
With good care, frogs typically live 5-15 years. Frogs are insectivores, which shapes what you feed and how much. Most adults weigh around 10-300 g. They reach maturity at about 1.5 years old.
Frog needs differ sharply between terrestrial, arboreal and fully aquatic species. All have permeable skin that absorbs whatever it touches, so hands must be wet and free of soap, and water must always be dechlorinated.
The health problems vets see most often in frogs include chytrid fungus, red leg disease, metabolic bone disease and impaction from loose substrate.
