Ant Environment tools: what they help with
These tools check the conditions your ant lives in: temperature and humidity ranges, lighting distances, heater sizing and other habitat numbers. Many ants cannot regulate their own body temperature or humidity. When the enclosure is off, health problems follow, often slowly enough that they are missed.
What to know about environment and habitat conditions for ants
An ant colony is kept as a superorganism rather than individual pets. A formicarium with a separate outworld, a humidity gradient and escape-proof barriers is essential, and the queen determines the colony lifespan. Target humidity is around 50-70%.

A practical tip
Measure with a digital thermometer and hygrometer at the animal's level, not near the heat source. Readings a few centimetres apart can differ a lot.

Environment tools for other pets
The same kind of tool exists for other species, each using that animal's own reference data: tarantula environment, scorpion environment, hermit crab environment and land crab environment.
