Turtle Housing tools: what they help with
These calculators size your turtle's living space: the minimum and recommended dimensions, how much bedding or substrate to buy and what fits in the space you have. Too little space is one of the most common welfare problems in pets. The right size gives a turtle room to move, rest and behave normally.
What to know about housing and enclosure size for turtles
Aquatic turtles need far more water than most owners expect, roughly 40 liters per 2.5cm of shell, with powerful filtration, a dry basking platform and UVB. They are a multi-decade commitment that commonly outgrows its first tank. Target humidity is around 60-80%.

Treat the minimum as the floor, not the goal. Bigger is almost always better, especially for active or social species.
