Snake Environment tools: what they help with
These tools check the conditions your snake lives in: temperature and humidity ranges, lighting distances, heater sizing and other habitat numbers. Many snakes cannot regulate their own body temperature or humidity. When the enclosure is off, health problems follow, often slowly enough that they are missed.
What to know about environment and habitat conditions for snakes
Snake requirements vary enormously by species, from a 1m colubrid to a 5m constrictor. All need a thermal gradient, secure hides at both ends, and a lid that genuinely locks, since almost every escape traces back to a loose enclosure. Target humidity is around 50-60%.

A practical tip
Measure with a digital thermometer and hygrometer at the animal's level, not near the heat source. Readings a few centimetres apart can differ a lot.
