Newt Housing tools: what they help with
These calculators size your newt's living space: the minimum and recommended dimensions, how much bedding or substrate to buy and what fits in the space you have. Too little space is one of the most common welfare problems in pets. The right size gives a newt room to move, rest and behave normally.
What to know about housing and enclosure size for newts
Newts need cool water and a land area they can climb onto, with temperatures kept below 22C. Many species are toxic to handle and to other tank inhabitants, and they are accomplished escape artists. Target humidity is around 70-90%.

A practical tip
Treat the minimum as the floor, not the goal. Bigger is almost always better, especially for active or social species.
