Millipede Environment tools: what they help with
These tools check the conditions your millipede lives in: temperature and humidity ranges, lighting distances, heater sizing and other habitat numbers. Many millipedes cannot regulate their own body temperature or humidity. When the enclosure is off, health problems follow, often slowly enough that they are missed.
What to know about environment and habitat conditions for millipedes
Millipedes need deep substrate rich in rotting hardwood and leaf litter, which is their actual food rather than an addition to it. They secrete a defensive fluid that can stain and irritate, so wash hands after handling. Target humidity is around 70-85%.

A practical tip
Measure with a digital thermometer and hygrometer at the animal's level, not near the heat source. Readings a few centimetres apart can differ a lot.

Environment tools for other pets
The same kind of tool exists for other species, each using that animal's own reference data: tarantula environment, scorpion environment, hermit crab environment and land crab environment.
