Macaw Environment tools: what they help with
These tools check the conditions your macaw lives in: temperature and humidity ranges, lighting distances, heater sizing and other habitat numbers. Many macaws cannot regulate their own body temperature or humidity. When the enclosure is off, health problems follow, often slowly enough that they are missed.
What to know about environment and habitat conditions for macaws
Macaws are the largest commonly kept parrots and need an aviary-sized cage, reinforced hardware they cannot dismantle, and a household that can tolerate genuinely loud calls. They routinely outlive their first owner. Target humidity is around 40-60%.

A practical tip
Measure with a digital thermometer and hygrometer at the animal's level, not near the heat source. Readings a few centimetres apart can differ a lot.

The same kind of tool exists for other species, each using that animal's own reference data: parrot environment, budgie environment, cockatiel environment and lovebird environment.
