Hedgehog Housing tools: what they help with
These calculators size your hedgehog's living space: the minimum and recommended dimensions, how much bedding or substrate to buy and what fits in the space you have. Too little space is one of the most common welfare problems in pets. The right size gives a hedgehog room to move, rest and behave normally.
What to know about housing and enclosure size for hedgehogs
African pygmy hedgehogs need a solid-floor enclosure kept at a steady 24-27C. Below that they may attempt hibernation, which is dangerous for them. They are solitary and must be housed alone. Target humidity is around 40-60%.

A practical tip
Treat the minimum as the floor, not the goal. Bigger is almost always better, especially for active or social species.
