What is the Frog Compatibility Checker?
The Frog Compatibility Checker checks whether frogs are compatible tankmates with other species. Behavior and compatibility mismatches are a common reason introductions go poorly or pets end up stressed, a little upfront assessment goes a long way.
A well-cared-for frog usually lives somewhere between 5 and 15 years. They are an insectivore, so their nutritional needs shift with age, size and activity. Frog needs differ sharply between terrestrial, arboreal and fully aquatic species. All have permeable skin that absorbs whatever it touches, so hands must be wet and free of soap, and water must always be dechlorinated. Keep an eye out for chytrid fungus, red leg disease, metabolic bone disease. These are the conditions frogs are most commonly seen for.

How does the Frog Compatibility Checker work?
The result comes from a weighted set of common, well-documented behavioral factors rather than a single yes/no rule, since real compatibility and temperament are rarely black and white. Use it to know roughly where you stand and what to ask about, not to rule anything in or out on its own.
What changes the answer
- Household composition: other pets, children, and general activity level all matter
- The individual animal's history and socialization, which can outweigh general breed or species tendencies
- Living environment: including space and access to outdoors
- Your own experience level and lifestyle, which affects how well a given temperament fits
How do you use the Frog Compatibility Checker?
- Answer "Young children in the household?"
- Answer "Other pets already at home?"
- Pick your household activity level (Low, Moderate, High)

Before you rely on this
Two frogs with identical numbers on paper can still need different care. Breed or line, body condition, activity level and any existing health conditions all pull the real answer away from the average. If your frog has a diagnosed condition, is pregnant, or is very young or very old, treat the figure here as the loosest of guides and let your vet set the actual target.
