Conure care tools and calculators
There are 24 tools for conures on XpertsPet, sorted into 13 topics such as age, behavior, breeding, cost, environment and grooming. The cards above take you straight to each group. Below is a short guide to what they cover and which ones are most useful at different points in your conure's life.
Conures at a glance
Expect a lifespan of roughly 20 to 30 years for a well-kept conure. Conures are omnivores, which shapes what you feed and how much. Most adults weigh around 60-300 g. They reach maturity at about 2 years old.
Conures are medium parrots with an outsized voice for their body. They are playful and physical, enjoy burrowing under fabric, and need a cage with plenty of horizontal bars for climbing plus daily out-of-cage play.
The health problems vets see most often in conures include conure bleeding syndrome, feather plucking, aspergillosis and obesity.
Eggs usually take 22 to 25 days to hatch.
