Koi Housing tools: what they help with
These calculators size your koi's living space: the minimum and recommended dimensions, how much bedding or substrate to buy and what fits in the space you have. Too little space is one of the most common welfare problems in pets. The right size gives a koi room to move, rest and behave normally.
What to know about housing and enclosure size for koi
Koi are pond fish, not aquarium fish. They need a minimum of roughly 3800 liters, at least 1.2m depth for overwintering, and heavy biological filtration to cope with their waste output.
Koi quick facts

A practical tip
Treat the minimum as the floor, not the goal. Bigger is almost always better, especially for active or social species.
