Gerbil Exercise tools: what they help with
These tools estimate how much exercise a gerbil needs each day based on breed, age and health, and help you plan it. Too little exercise leads to weight gain and boredom-driven behavior; too much can strain young or older joints.
What to know about exercise and activity for gerbils
Gerbils typically live 3 to 4 years. Gerbils are desert animals that burrow constantly, so they need at least 25cm of deep substrate in a tank rather than a shallow cage. They should be kept in same-sex pairs and produce very little odor.

A practical tip
Split exercise across the day. Two or three shorter sessions usually suit animals better than one long one.
